Meet Our Coaching Staff

Three generations of collegiate basketball players dedicated to developing the next generation of athletes.

Head Coach

Coach Lee Sanders

Founder & Head Coach · 33+ Years Experience

Coach Lee Sanders is the patriarch of Legendary Basketball Academy and the driving force behind its mission. A former collegiate basketball player, Coach Lee has dedicated over three decades to coaching young athletes — not just in the X's and O's of the game, but in the values that make great players and even better people.

His coaching philosophy centers on fundamentals, discipline, and building character through sport. Coach Lee believes that every player — regardless of skill level — deserves to be coached with respect, intention, and high expectations.

Coach Kristopher Sanders

Lead Skills Trainer & Camp Director

Kristopher Sanders grew up on the court and carried his passion for basketball to the collegiate level. As LBA's Lead Skills Trainer and Camp Director, Coach Kristopher brings an intense, detail-oriented approach to player development.

He specializes in offensive skill development — ball handling, shooting mechanics, footwork, and court awareness. His training sessions are high-energy, fast-paced, and designed to push athletes beyond their comfort zones while keeping the experience positive and fun.

Coach Austin Sanders

Assistant Coach & Defensive Specialist

Austin Sanders is the youngest member of the Sanders coaching family — but don't let that fool you. A collegiate basketball player himself, Coach Austin brings a fresh, player-first perspective to LBA's coaching staff.

He focuses on defensive fundamentals, conditioning, and helping young athletes develop the mental toughness needed to compete at higher levels. His relatability and energy make him a favorite among campers, and his defensive drills are some of the most popular (and challenging) in the program.
